today felt like saturday! as i have no clinics to attend to. yesterday was my last. but, between 9am till 12pm, i only saw one patient!! being in clinics partly based on luck. i mean, in terms of seein patients with signs. the only thing i saw was psoriasis plaques yesterday.
on wednesday, there were only three of us. one was m.i.a.
the senior nurse asked us to follow a doctor to theater. initially i thought, "oh just great!" i hate having to change into scrubs then to my clothes back. but it turned, the "theater" is just a procedure room located in the clinic as well and we didn't even have to change! we watched a suspicious looking mole being excised.
and i thought after so many surgery, i would be fine. but i wasn't! as the doctor was in the process of cutting the epidermis, my head felt so light out of sudden. and my vision started to get blurred a few minutes after. i said to myself,"oh for god sake! it was just a minor surgery. it's so minor that i was not sure we could call it a surgery and you were about to pass out from that??" i grabbed a seat (which thankfully the room has, for the relatives accompanying the patient) anyway as i felt that blood was draining away from my head. and the doctor instantly asked, "are you ok?". it was embarrassing! but no, i did not faint. thank god!
i guess i was just squeamish. am still actually. i just couldnt see the skin being cut open. once the body was cut open, i'm fine. i mean, i have watched bowel/hernia/mastectomy surgeries without problem. but then again, not so true.i almost fainted when the surgeon was cutting a patient's chest open for the mastectomy.
laugh all you want. i think it's funny too!
...
i wished the conversation would last longer. i'm just so absorbed with work that i rarely chat with anyone anymore.
oh my.
i so need to get a life!
