it's comforting to see that almost every blog that i've been reading have been mentioning about merdeka. be it one long post or just a line or two at the end of an entry. believe it or not, people my age do value the independence that we have achieved for the last 50 years. there may be a lot of social problems on the news that make us think that malaysia's young generation is hopeless, but there is still a lot of potential leaders that will shape the country hopefully, for the better , in the future. it's tanggal 31 ogos 2007. being away from malaysia, i didnt feel any sort of celebration at all. haha, whadya expect anyway? only a few random thoughts, here and there whenever i walk to school or when i was reading the news....
it's the end of introductory week of phase 3.
i am officially a 3rd yr med.
had my registration stuff done on monday. and the fee for my 3rd year is 19500 gbp!!

people say, queen's uni has the cheapest registration fee. but it is still, A LOT of money. even more when you convert that amount into ringgit!!
and there is quite a few new faces. there's one exchange student from germany, and there's a few from i.m.u. the name of germany girl-ifa, sound like a malay name. heheh. they were all properly welcomed during the first lecture, having the 3rd year coordinator, i forgot his name, say their name out loud and asked them to stand for all of us to see.
the introductory week so far , was pretty boring. all we had were lectures.some on critical thinking, needle stick injury, the gmc/foundation year talks. it was hard to keep awake.

hehe. and oh, this time around, we got a dvd each. which contains just about everything. from lecture notes to assessment to tutorials. and oh, they even included the video of lectures. we practically do not have any lectures to attend anymore. and there's even mp3 format for all the lectures, that we can download to our mp3 player, which i think is pretty cool. hehe. i am yet to download any of them into my ipod. but maybe sometimes in the future, you'll be finding me listening to my ipod. not to countless of songs, but to the lectures on cardiovascular or something in bus, on my way to ulster hospital. haha. hmm come to think of it, i think that was the only thing that i was excited about. haha. it'll be handy to have that dvd when we have to attend our attachment at the peripheral hospitals later on.
i'll be having three weeks of student selected component before my first attachment. i start with general medicine block. i am pretty anxious about it but i cant wait for it to begin either.

and oh, happy 50th independence day my beloved country!!
