it's a vicious cycle.

remember the lady with stroke who has no place to go in my 2nd last post?
she was admitted yet again. what for? am not sure exactly. i was just passing through the ward when i saw her at one of the beds.. will check it out tomorrow.

it's the beginning of week 5. and i'm losing sparks motivations.

anyhoo, there was a boy admitted last week. he's merely 13 years old. sick children up until 15 years of age will be placed in paediatric ward in the UK and i'm suprised to see he was place in the adult medical ward. ya know, i have soft spot for school children up till around that age.. while they are still naive about the real world, before they lose their innocence. small kids can be annoyance sometime and why i even bothered to explain this, i have no idea why. anyways, the 13-year old boy, was admitted with rheumatic fever. what made me more fond of him was his physical resemblance to my own lil brother. so, it kinda hard not to get attached when imagining that it could be my own brother sitting on that bed was kinda unavoidable.
he was in a hospital for good 7 days. and i could imagine how bored he must be. i mean, another patients on the ward were all much much older than him, so not exactly anyone that he could chat up with. then there was no tv around, and family would only be visiting briefly in the evening. S and i even thought to buy him something for him to kill the time, but he was discharged the following morning that we came to see him.. so, good for him.

now, that's why doctors arent encouraged to treat their own family. it's hard to stay objective when you're emotionally tied.
