yeah,yeah.
i could have reach home earlier, had i not take the bus. waiting for it to come is one thing, to have the bus crawling through traffic is another thing. *sigh* but then again, i should be grateful that i didnt get to send up to more rural gp practice, like up in the north coast!
i had interesting day to say the least. i was with a locum gp as my gp tutor is away on holidays. the locum gp was a zimbabwe native. and he was a whole different tangent from my perception of what zimbabwe's people should be. to cut the story short, i learnt more about zimbabwe than anything medical today. lol. and oh, how with experience and the passing time, doctors generally become more sceptical. with the patients, and also the health care systems.
i dont know the situation in malaysia, but here, alcohol dependency is a HUGE problem. and those who are alcohol dependent able to get benefits. which i dont think they deserve. as mostly would use the benefits to drown themselves with more alcohol.which is sad, really. i may be generalizing, but the reality is, almost 70-80% of them doing just that. one of the patient that i saw today, was reeking with the smell of booze when he came in. and he was only 49 years old but surely looks older than his age. and was diagnosed with cerebral atrophy at the age of 47! and whenever the doctor asks whether he's still drinking, oh he told him that he's try to cut down. but i know that the gp would just take it with a pinch of salt really. i know i was.
and to what extent do the doctors need to help? come to think of it, it is such a waste of resources!
