i'm back from my trip to brussels. i dont want to go back! . if only, the cash flow is unlimited. oh well, there's always the next time.


i enjoyed the 3 days that i spent in belgium. wished we didnt have to go back so soon!
arrived in brussels in the afternoon. after reading the guests' reviews of the hotel, i was pretty anxious. there were stories of people getting mugged right in front of the hotel!! thank god, nothing like that happened during our stay. the hotel was cosy.. and the free breakfast was great as well.

nak go day by day ke? heh, x payahla.
a few highlights:

• atomium & mini europe

great view of brussels from the atomium.
and there were reaaaallly long stairs& escalators inside it.
altophobic that i am,i did not like the feeling of walking up&down them.
mini europe was full of miniatures of great buildings around europe.
too bad the weather was pretty gloomy.
the pictures were not as great as they could be.

• grand'place (grote markt)

the market square was full with tourists! it's considered to be one of the most beautiful town squares in Europe. not that i've been to many town squares, but i kinda agree. and the orchestra of lights bathing the town hall during the night was amazing!! this video wont do justice but have a look anyway:

• antwerp

about 45 minutes train ride away from brussels, this is one of the notable diamond cutting places other than south africa, india, israel etc. coming out of the train station, lines of shops selling diamond filled the streets. and the diamond museum currently holding an exhibition about the hip-hop artists and their bling bling. some of the things are just plain ridiculous to put diamonds on. oh well, their money. apparently too much of it till they can afford to waste on diamonds being put onto just about anything they can think of. i fervently hoped that there'd be "rejected diamonds of some sort".haha. any cut that cost around 40-50 euros that maybe i could buy. haha.silly me. of course tak ade!!!

• belgium waffle

is to die for! i ate so much of them, i lost count by the end of third day. haha. but seriously, sgt sedap k.
