looking at the timetable, i'll no longer get the privilege of classes to start at 10 or even 11. everyday classes start at 9! aih, with winter looming near, it's so hard to get out of the comfy warm duvet every single morning. heh~
nothing much being done today. the usual introductory talk by our coordinator, Mr. B. He laid out all the things that he expected from us, and all his pet peeves which made me gulp while listening to him. haaa, the following 6 weeks gonna be tough. after the brief tour to the o.t, he brought us back to the seminar room and taught us a bit about how you can practically write just about any disease if you have a few keys set in your mind and does not even matter if you dont know much about it! to prove his point, he went,"okay, lets just pick a disease" in my mind, "ok, maybe he'll pick something common like hypertension or diabetes maybe". he decided to pick.. legionnaire's disease!. all of us were practically had our mouth dropped open.haha. the only thing i think i knew was it's spread through hospital shower or something. we only learnt briefly about it during microbiology last year. he took us through each key, and walllah, it actually work!
you'll sound like a genius even if you dont know much!
in the afternoon, we met up with our general med coordinator to get our cases. i thought he'd just gave it all to us and that's it. then he called one of us first and brought to his office. the others and i were like, "oh my! is he to question about our cases or what?" heh, it turned out, he just wanted to explain on our cases, on what ways we can improve. my mark for all three cases were so-so. the one that i thought would get higher mark, got lower than what i expect and vice versa. oh well, it only carry 1% per case. so, doesnt matter. and apart from commenting about the case, he was actually impressed with my english! the grammar and way of writing and all.haha. he thought i only took up english when i came here or sumthing. .. he was saying,"did you take english in school?" duh!
as far as the first day goes, i think i prefer general med than surgery. but heh, it's too early to tell. i'll give it a week, then i'll reconsider my preference.. hihi.
