this would be another post where i'll be whining about school/study. haih.. people say your social life is likely to be disappearing bit by bit as you progress more into med school...
today was another intense day. heh, at least for the first part of the morning. we were brought to see a patient. and j volunteered to take history from him. 5 minutes after j asked him on what brought him to the hospital, he was still going on about what he was doing during holiday, what he ate, what he was doing with his friends et cetera et cetera. he rambled on and on and on... j didnt really stopped him and i was beginning to get lost on where his story was leading to... it seemed rude to like stop him, and ask what REALLY brought him to the hospital, but yeah, that's basically what the SHO was telling us to do if we ever encountered patient like him. and we were pretty much grilled after that about examination, differential diagnoses, management and all. no doubt it's made you feel stupid sometimes whenever a doctor gives you hard time, however horrible i feel afterwards, those times that i actually learn something and hopefully i would never forget for the rest of my medical career. heh, it's a bit scary thought when we are perceived as doctor-in-training instead of medical students. i'm still clueless about LOTS of things, that i dont really see myself as you know, THE 'doctor-in-training". haha
oh well. one day at a time.
it'll be another intense day tomorrow as Mr. K expects us to know just about everything about hernias. plus an early start as he wants us to follow his ward round too!
